Social determinants of health (SDOH) have long-term, far-reaching, and not always obvious ramifications in people’s lives—including their risk for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). On July 20th, 2021, UsAgainstAlzheimer’s held a virtual Congressional briefing on “place” – where people live, work, and play – and its role on brain health and the importance of public health in addressing the impact of Alzheimer’s on communities of color.
The briefing’s experts presented new data on the congressional districts most impacted by Alzheimer’s, discussed policy recommendations for narrowing disparities, and shared tailored resources to promote brain health nationally and in communities.
